Task 11- Find online books using Google Books

Google Books does seem to be getting better all the time but there needs to be a lot more choice. I think it is great for reference or text books but I don't really see myself reading books for leisure online particularly. You never know though - Great for travelling.

Task 15 - So what’s in a wiki?

When I read we were learning about wiki's I thought it meant Wikipedia. You learn something new everyday. As for the value of wikis, I like the idea of a favorite book wiki to get someone else's viewpoint before you try a book. I can see a product review wiki being useful. I didn't realize information on Wikipedia could be changed. And users do not need to know HTML in order to apply styles to text or add and edit content. In most cases simple syntax structure is used. I don't use it regularly but I know people who do use it.

Task 18 - iGoogle

I certainly do google with this my customised home page. I really like some of these options to create your own working environment with the things you use most. I do have trouble finding the time to modify these though, so once it is set up it is unlikely to change. I quite like the idea that the most often used tools are located in one place. iGoogle

Task 2 - Lifelong Learning

I tend to play initially to learn a new skill or just curious how does thing work.
Once I know how a thing works or if I like it, it becomes a challenge for me which is the hardest habit begin with the end in mind. But it always ends with too many questions and I have to make a decision. it's never too late to become a lifelong learner.

Task 19 - You Tube!

YouTube...Love browsing You tube...and found this...say hello to Borat:

Task 8 - RSS feeds

Well this has been an interesting lesson, let me say right up front that I’m not the most technically savvy person going around - but even I can use RSS. At first I found it a little strange to make the change from bookmarking to RSS but I found that when I started that I just couldn’t stop. I signed and subscribed to Bloglines & Digg.

Task 7 - Commenting on blogs and blogging on technology

Thinking about launching your own blog? Here's some friendly advice: Don't. And if you've already got one, pull the plug.

Writing a weblog today isn't the bright idea it was four years ago. The blogosphere, once a freshwater oasis of folksy self-expression and clever thought, has been flooded by a tsunami of paid bilge. Cut-rate journalists and underground marketing campaigns now drown out the authentic voices of amateur wordsmiths. It's almost impossible to get noticed, except by hecklers. And why bother? The time it takes to craft sharp, witty blog prose is better spent expressing yourself on Flickr, Facebook, or Twitter.

If you quit now, you're in good company. Notorious chatterbox Jason Calacanis made millions from his Weblogs network. But he flat-out retired his own blog in July. "Blogging is simply too big, too impersonal, and lacks the intimacy that drew me to it," he wrote in his final post.
